About Me

My visual career started as a widely published reportage photographer before studying Cinematography at the UK’s National Film and Television School. My credits include drama, documentary, commercials, and music videos.

 

Recent credits include the hard-hitting drama feature film Disclosure which premiered at Palm Springs International Film Festival 2020 to excellent reviews. My long-term collaboration with Artist Director Jasmina Cibic has produced a of number films including the NADA trilogy, Tear Down and Rebuild and most recently The Gift that have been exhibited at venues worldwide including MoMA New York, Venice Biennale 2013, BALTIC Gateshead, Whitechapel Gallery, and European Capital of Culture Aarhus 2017.

 

In 2022 I was appointed Associate Professor of Filmmaking at the University of Plymouth, UK. Previous to this I headed-up the Cinematography department at the Northern Film School in Leeds. I have also taught many short courses & masterclasses for production companies, and international film schools and I am a regular speaker at film festivals and industry events.  

 

I provided additional cinematography on Finding Fela! (2014), We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks (2013), and A Fifty Year Argument (2014) for Alex Gibney and Martin Scorsese. Other documentary credits include Venus and Serena (2012), China Power – Art Now After Mao (C4 True Stories 2009), TT: A Dangerous Obsession (2012), & Axis of Light (2012). Drama credits range from shorts to cinema & TV release feature length. Commercials include: Dyson, Birds Eye, Codemasters, Simple, Danone, Vosene, Ericsson, The Settlers, iBank, BBC, and Pan-African football. 



 

I have  worked on productions that have won or been shortlisted for BAFTA, AACTA, ATOM, Jarman, Broadcast, Promax UK/Europe, IVCA, RTS, Grierson, MAC Arts, Aesthetica, IDA and PGA awards.
